Meet The Colleagues

Nathan Williams

Nathan's Impact

After two years teaching science to rural youth in Burkina Faso, Nathan began working toward a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics in Germany. Profoundly moved by the disparity he observed while in the Peace Corps, he found himself reconsidering his professional focus: "I recognized my passion was not in theoretical but applied physics. Attending the Krista Foundation debriefing retreat proved very helpful in making this decision. I returned to Germany but decided not to stay, a hard decision."

Now enrolled in the Applied Physics program at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa, he can focus on making solar power accessible for African villagers, including the Burkinabé youth he taught. Thanks to your support, Nathan is using his KF grant funds to make contacts with international experts at the Solar World Congress.
