Ariana Easterly

Ariana's Service Bio

"So many parents don't realize the impact they have on the success of their children in SO many areas of their lives," says Ariana. "I see potential in so many kids but because their parents are not telling them they can do whatever they set their mind to we have unintended pregnancies, gang violence, drug addiction, and alcoholism. That needs to change!" Ariana's work includes running an after-school tutoring program and at risk women's group at Rainier Beach high school, planning youth group activities at Emerald City Bible Fellowship, in addition to her role with elementary school parents as Family Involvment Director.

At the end of 2007, Ariana served on a team that taught English and helped build the foundation for an orphanage in the Zambia. The experience has inspired her. "My goal after my time is finished (with Urban Impact) is to enter the Peace Corps in hopes of being sent to Africa (specifically Zambia) to work as a community and youth developer."
