Meet The Colleagues
Courtney's Service Bio
I was a small business development volunteer, focusing mainly on business education with youth and women. I also worked on secondary projects such as building a well and facilitating a scholarship program for young women in my region of Senegal.
A Decade Later:
After serving with the Peace Corps in Senegal from 2001 to 2003, Courtney Cossey became a high school career and college counselor, and advisor for the school’s multi-cultural club, managing school-wide awareness events. Desiring to serve together, Courtney and her husband Wayland volunteered for nine months in 2009 with Cornerstone Youth Leadership Academy in Uganda. After the birth of their daughter Sierra, Courtney transitioned to a part-time independent college admissions counselor for students across Seattle. Even with a growing family, they continue to find ways to engage their community, providing leadership and inspiration. This fall their whole family returns to Uganda and Rwanda leading a vision trip for their church.
