I was a medical translator on Mercy Ships, a floating hospital that performed cataract eye surgeries.  We ran the pre-op and post-op clinic as well as some translation needed during surgeries that could not use anesthetics.  I also worked as a child-care giver and English teacher at Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos, a children's home with over 600 abandoned or criminally neglected children of all ages.
