Meet The Colleagues
Nils Ringo
Nils's Service Bio
In Honduras at the Farm of the Child, I will be living with a group of about 25 other volunteers working to serve children. Each morning begins with community prayer time among the volunteers before embarking out of the house that we will be sharing... Upon arriving there, I will find out what my specific role is—either as a teacher, social worker, or an adolescent home parent.
"Serving in community has been extremely life giving in my experiences." Says Nils. In a country suffering with poverty and challenged by political instability, Nils is eager to learn how to serve. "Being in different cultures has...taught me much about the reality of God's love for all humans, not just those who look, speak, act, and live like me."
Before heading out, Nils will spend the Summer as a co-lead for the 9-week Compass program at Camp Spalding, mentoring a group of recent high school graduates in developing a sense of calling and direction.
