Service Resources
Service Organizations
Finding a service organization is like getting married for a year or more-- you ought to know what you're getting into.
Whether you go through a 'placement' organization that focuses on volunteer care and training, or do research to find a direct connection, there are as many styles of work and settings as there are volunteers to fill them.
Rule #1: Service organizations that take volunteers are not all alike. In fact, they can be as different as night and day.
We will be developing the 'Ready to Serve' section of this site as a handy resource to help you ask the right questions of 1. yourself and 2. your agency in order to discern if the organization seems like a good fit.
We present to you this growing list of organizations, most of them are places our Krista Colleagues have served-- so you can link to their bio page to learn about their experience, and potentially contact them with questions.
You're considering a wonderful and very important choice. We hope you find these resources helpful.
